Thank you for choosing Suds 'N Scissors Inc. Pet Spa for all your pets grooming needs. We pride ourselves on providing the best care possible for your best friend. Before grooming, please read and initial, and sign below so you are aware to our terms of service, Again, thank you for entrusting the staff of Suds 'N Scissors Inc. 

  • If your pet has any medical problems, seizures, arthritis, collapsed trachea, back, leg or disc, or skin problems, please make us aware of theses issues, so that we can determine the best way to handle your pets comfort. Sometimes grooming can expose a pre-existing condition; we cannot diagnose such a condition, but may advise you to seek Veterinarian attention.
  • If your pet has any history of biting or aggression, we require that you notify us before grooming. This will help prevent injury to your pet and us. If your pet has behavioral issues, we are happy to work through them with you.
  • If your pet has fleas or ticks, we will automatically administer a flea bath. We will notify you if possible. The charge for this service is $15 to $25 depending on the size of your pet there will also be an extra charge for removal of ticks depending on how many and the size of the pet. This cost covers the shampoo, time, and cleaning necessary to ensure that no fleas are active in the salon. The treatment will kill the fleas & ticks on your pet, but after leaving our salon, your pet will not be protected from any fleas that may be present in your home or pet area
  • If your pet's coat is extremely matted, it may need to be shaved down. WE WILL ONLY SHAVE YOUR PET WITH YOUR CONSENT. A matted coat prevents air from reaching your pet's skin and may cause your pet to bite or scratch itself, resulting in irritated skin that does not heal properly. Shaving uncovers these conditions, as well as any other skin problems that may have developed from lack of grooming. Please note that it is difficult to shave down a matted pet without slightly irritating the skin. There will be an extra charge for this service because of the time and additional blades needed.
  • SORES AND HAIR LOSS: As hair becomes more matted it can pull on the skin causing sores and hair loss, there is a chance your pet may become bruised or irritated when we either clip or brush this out, please be aware WE DID NOT CREATE THIS MATTED CONDITION, WE WILL ADVISE THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY TO REMOVE THE MATTED FUR.
  • EXTRA CHARGES: there is a $30 per hour extra brush charge on all pets, this is above all other costs, if a pet is severly matted or tangled, we can estimate the cost but we will have charge for the time. Many clients think that since the topcoat is brushed then they are not matted, this is most often NOT the case, PLEASE ASK A STAFF MEMBER TO GO OVER THE COAT CONDITION WITH YOU BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMNET.
  • SPECIAL HANDLING: There is a $10-$15 extra charge for all pets requiring special handling, ie: pets that need 2 people to wash, brush, or general restraint. This is subject to how we feel your pets and our staff safety is a concern. 

We reserve the right to refuse service to customers whose pets may pose a threat to our employees or other pets in our care. This includes aggression problems, health problems, and parasite problems other than fleas. If your pet is aggressive or bites or injures and employee, you may be charged for your full appointment, and have to furnish proof of Rabies certificate as per CA Health Code.
 

All pets must be current on all vaccinations; from time to time we will AUDIT YOUR PETS VACCINATION HYSTORY and require that you bring in current proof of vaccinations.

SENIOR PETS: Grooming procedures can be sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior pet or pet with health problems, grooming also can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current ones during or after the groom. Because senior pets and pets with health problem a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. In the best interest of your pet this contract/agreement will give Suds 'N Scissors Inc. permission to obtain Veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary. We will do our best to contact you first, and then take your pet to an authorized Veterinarian that is available. It is agreed that all incurred charges will be those of said owner of the pet signing this contract.

ACCIDENTS: There is always the possibility an accident can occur, Grooming equipment is sharp, and pets can be very wiggly, especially puppies and pets not familiar even though we use extreme caution and care in all situation, possible problems can occur including cuts, nick, scratches, nail bleeds, etc. especially if your pet is new to the grooming process. We only use hypo allergenic non-tears shampoo, but it is almost impossible to keep any liquids from the eyes, especially if your pet shakes when wet, we will use all care as to rinse your pets face well, and make sure there is no reside left, but this all depends on the cooperation of your pet. JUST LIKE HUMANS SOMETIMES SHAMPOO CAN GET INTO THE EYES!

EARLY PICK-UP: If you arrive early and your pet is still being groomed, please DO NOT TALK or allow your pet to see you. Sit quietly, or step outside for a few moments. Every effort will be made to insure your pet is groomed safely as possible, but an excited pet can be dangerous to continue to work on. If you insist on talking to your pet, or the groomer, we reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if the groom is not completed, and THE FULL PRICE WILL BE CHARGED. 

Grooming drop off is between 9:00 - 11:30 am Mon-Friday and 9 - 10:30 Sat UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE. Appointments for pets arriving 15 minutes after the drop off window (or 15 minutes later than the designated in-and-out time) may be forfeited. Pick up is generally between 2 - 4 pm daily. Please note: calling the shop on busy days to ask when your pet will be ready slows down the groomers and effects all out-times. Please schedule on a day when you are flexible. Due to the nature of our services, animal behavior, business volume, and our desire to produce quality grooms...we do not guarantee specific out-times.

 CANCELATION OR NO SHOW: WE SCHEDULE STAFF AS TO YOUR APPOINTMNENT on that note we have a strict no show or cancelation policy, we require a 24 hr. cancelation notice on all pre booked appointment, we will confirm your appointment 48 hrs. for full grooms, and 24 hrs. for bathing appointments. We allow you to miss up to 2 appointments reasonably, after that you will be billed for your past missed appointments and will require a credit card on file (which will be charged to book any future appointments). Habitual no shows will result in not being able to pre book appointments. MINIMUM $40 CANCELATION FEE WILL APPLY (required)
 PULLING OF THE EAR HAIR AND CLEANING OF EARS: The pulling of the hair in the ear canal and ear cleaning can be a very painful process for your pet, it can also worsen an already present ear infection and unforeseen condition, or create an ear infection due to the follicles in the canal being exposed to bacteria, and moisture. Sometimes the middle ear will bleed, and become inflamed; there may also be inner ear infections that we as groomer cannot see from outside inspection. THIS IS A PAINFULL PROCESS FOR YOUR PET, we are not Veterinarians; we will clip the outside of the ear, and clean the outside of the canal BUT WILL NOT GO INSIDE THE EAR CANAL AT ANY POINT. This is a job for your Veterinarian. Just as you would not let your hairdresser, clean your ears or diagnose an ear infection, we would not do the same. We will make recommendations as to ear care, but it will always be your responsibility to check with your Veterinarian. Please remember, WE ARE NOT VETERNIARIANS, PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO BE, we are a pet grooming facility. (required)
 LATE FEE: Pets left after closing time 5pm on weekdays & 4pm on Saturdays will be subject to a $25 fee for every 15 minutes after 5:15pm on weekdays & 4:15pm on Saturdays. THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE we will make every effort to work with your schedule, but after our closing time the staff is still on our time clock and has to be paid, several of the staff members have child care issues and cannot be late picking up their families. YOU MUST MAKE ARRANGEMANTS TO PICK UP YOUR PET AT CLOSING TIME. It is not Suds 'N Scissors Inc. responsibility to make theses arrangements; we do not have a boarding facility. PLEASE DO NOT ARGUE THIS POLICY. (required)
